I believe in pushing my students to be hard working and responsible citizens of their classroom, school. and community. We are always working with the future in mind. Each morning we repeat the class affirmation that reminds us that we have worth and great potential.
I am somebody. I was somebody when I came. I’ll be a better somebody when I leave. I am powerful and I am strong. I deserve the education that I get here. I have things to do, people to impress and places to go.
I am College Bound!
I hope that you believe these words as much as I do. As a parent, there are many ways that you can help your child succeed. Some of these are by ensuring that each child is reading at least 30 minutes everyday, discussing what they read, ensuring they are doing their homework, discussing their daily social interactions, and having them explain their thinking often.
Utah has adopted the Common Core Standards for math and language arts, which ensures that 6th graders across the nation are learning the same concepts and being held to the same standards. If you are interested in what we are learning or would like to know more about the core standards please review the following resources.
